A powerful speaker, author and intuitive counselor and coach, Nanice Ellis is a master at turning challenges into triumphs. Through her wisdom, enthusiasm and positive energy, Nanice creates significant, life-altering transformation in a safe and compassionate environment of unconditional acceptance and support.

Nanice understands that only in the face of fear, can we discover courage, and only when we feel most lost can we finally find our way home. In this truth she has found her sole purpose—to help others find their way through the darkness into the light, creating a safe space for virtually anyone to look deep within themselves and discover their own truths while tapping into their unlimited potential. Because of her unwavering love and compassion, others gravitate to Nanice for acceptance and support, trusting her to share in their journeys toward unconditional self-acceptance.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
JTS Special Evening show at 6:30pm cst / 7:30pm est with Anna Dee Olson.
Being raised by Midwestern Amish parents Anna Dee Olson grew up understanding that life is meant to be difficult with very few days of pleasure. The rigid restrictions of her culture became harder to follow as Anna reached her teen years and the desires in her heart were leading her away from her family, community, and culture. She knew by following her desires the huge challenges she would encounter. For four years Anna struggled with what to do but at the age of 24 she finally made her first life changing decision based on what she wanted to do.
Anna was forced to choose between her family and the lifestyle she dreamed of living. Even though adapting to the new way of life (outside the sheltered box the Amish live) was a challenge, she kept her focus on her dream of peace at heart and serving others. After many trials and obstacles to overcome and
learning from her mistakes Anna understands that her past did not define who she is but prepared her to become the strong woman that she is today. In less than a year after leaving the Amish lifestyle behind Anna passed the test to get her High School Equivalency diploma. In the fall of 1993 Anna’s dream of
going to college became a reality and she graduated with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in 2005.
During the past 16 years Anna was involved in Student Senate, Relay for Life, Madhatters Drama club, Women of Today organization, and Toastmasters International. Today Anna’s motto is: “True forgiveness is a choice we all have.” Anna is a successful published Author and Public Speaker. She strongly believes in helping people through volunteering, sharing her experiences to help and inspire others,
and to help the world understand the secretive life of the Amish culture.
Join me Thursday September 3rd as Anna and I talk about her new book as well as her life growing up Amish.
Listen live at 4:30pm pst / 5:30pm mnt / 6:30pm cst / 7:30pm est on Blog Talk Radio.
———-———–Show Note———————
Anna and I talked about her upcoming audio book, which I had the privilege of working on with her. We also talk about her transition from living in an Amish Community to mainstream society. It was a delight to talk to Anna; she illustrates that even if people have vastly different backgrounds they are still common threads that connect us all. Her story is an inspiration!
This week I have author and Confidence Expert, Astrid Harris on Journey to Self.
Astrid Harris is an internationally-recognized confidence-building expert, author and educator.
Astrid – meaning “divine force” in Swedish – is indeed a force for good, and has always looked for ways to use her life experience and diverse cultural knowledge to enrich the lives of others.
Born in Alsace, France, she was inspired by her grandmother’s astonishing and adventurous stories of her life in Africa to reach for the full potential of life. Early on, Astrid used her outgoing personality, passion for learning and extensive cultural knowledge to enrich the lives of others. She taught for several years at a prestigious language school for adults, earning recognition as Outstanding Teacher of the Year. She next branched out as an entrepreneur, establishing her own language school, Polyglot Network, which offers a broad range of languages to a diverse client base.
Driven by a natural affinity for helping people, she quickly realized that her empathy and enthusiasm for others would make her an effective motivator and life coach. Through a system of self-assessment, she works to help clients build a sense of possibility. She encourages them to take personal responsibility for their actions, stay focused and move steadily toward their goals.
The next logical step was for Astrid to bring her life coaching and self-empowerment models to a wider audience. ”If you want to be competitive in this world, you need to believe in yourself.” She has made the coaching experience affordable and convenient through her recent publication, Unstoppable Confidence: a Life-Changing Workbook. Her precise methods and strategies, using concise and convincing language, enable readers to discover their own personal path to success in life.
Unstoppable Confidence is an exceptional workbook comprised of six breakthrough units designed to help readers reach their full potential by becoming the self-assured person they have always knew they could be. Working through Unstoppable Confidence is a constructive experience built to break down the thought barriers that often paralyze or limit real action.
This was a great show! Astrid shared great steps to boosting confidence and how confidence can be the key to success. Astrid also talked about how through our own choices to let go of negative thoughts and by taking responsibility we can increase our confidence.
Here are some tips that Astrid shared:
Define yourself - let go of comparing yourself to others.
Nothing has meaning in life except the meaning your give it - It is your choice as to what is important, no one else’s.
Think independently.
Stop all or nothing thinking.
This week on Journey to Self is yoga and wellness expert Asha Praver.
Asha has been a spiritual seeker since she was young. In 1969 at Stanford University, she heard Swami Kriyananda speak for the first time and immediately recognized him as her spiritual guide. She became a founding member of the new community Swami was starting near Nevada City, California: Ananda Village.
Swami Kriyananda placed her in the role of teaching and counseling soon after her arrival. In that capacity, she has taught throughout the United States, and occasionally in Europe and India as well. She also served as Swami’s correspondence secretary for many years.
Asha and her husband David have been instrumental in the founding of a second community, Ananda Palo Alto, located in California’s Silicon Valley. Asha has been a disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda and a meditator since 1969.
Today she and David serve as the spiritual directors for Ananda Palo Alto. They have been married 26 years. Asha is author of Swami Kriyananda As We Have Known Him, a newly published collection of more than 200 stories told by people who have been touched by his teachings and spiritual friendship, often in miraculous ways.
———-———–Show Note———————
I am extremely grateful that Asha was able to join me on Journey to Self this week. During the show we talked about how we can set up our own sacred space and bring spirituality into our everyday life. Asha talked about her life as a student of Swami Kriyananda and the wisdom she has learned.
We also discussed spirituality as self-awareness and how tools such as meditation and yoga can help us connect with our inner selves creating a conscious awareness.
This show was filled with so much wisdom about how we can focus on our internal self.
Tips to creating scared spaces (From an article from Asha Praver):
Put your sacred spaces wherever you spend the most time. You want to see sacred spaces when you enter and leave the house, wash the dishes, work at the computer, talk on the phone, or first wake up in the morning. Put them near, but not in the actual workflow. A wall or a window ledge, for example, is usually better than your nightstand, desk, or the kitchen counter, where everyday clutter can easily encroach on them.
Keep them simple. Your sacred spaces should have an immediate spiritual impact on you. Choose things of inherent power that have personal meaning. Sacred symbols like the cross, Star of David, or AUM, or items from nature work well. Images of gurus or saints, especially if the consciousness in the eyes is clearly visible, are ideal. Make the Dalai Lama, Mother Theresa, Paramhansa Yogananda, or Jesus Christ your everyday companion. Word messages are also good, especially if you can get the meaning at a glance. “Hope.” “Faith.” “God Loves You.”
Keep it fresh. Don’t let dust, dead flowers, or burned out candles accumulate on your sacred spaces! If you are neglecting the sacred spaces in your outer environment it probably means you need to give more attention to your inner self as well. If what you have placed there no longer inspires you, then start over. Keep trying until you find those images that resonate with your soul and have an enduring capacity to lift your consciousness. Making a sacred space is a spiritual journey in itself.
——-———–Show Information——————-
I am delighted to have author and coach Saskia Roell on Journey to Self this week.
As a Transformational Life Coach, Saskia guides with compassion, humor, wisdom, and commitment at the level of the Soul. The most powerful tool she offers is the example she sets in her life through the revelation of her own stories. She empowers others to live from the heart, find the courage to follow their dreams, and life their life purpose.
Saskia found her passion for empowering others while teaching at the Rijksuniversiteit of Groningen, in The Netherlands, as a member of the Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences in the Department of Experimental Psychology. She has extensively studied the conscious mind, the subconscious mind, and the superconscious mind and how our unhealed emotions effect our destiny. She holds certificates in Naturopathy, Transformational Healing, Master Training in Integrative Life Healing Coaching, Advanced Hypnotherapy, Past Life and Age Regression, Somatic Healing, Birthing and Fertility Therapy.
In 2001 Saskia, her husband, and their five young children took a daring leap of faith, sold their house in Holland, and gave up their thriving businesses to explore new possibilities in the United States. With little money, no job prospects, no contacts and five kids who didn’t speak a word of English, they landed in a small town by the sea. It was a challenge of a lifetime. Saskia, however, trusted they could reinvent their lives at that moment. Her book, A Suitcase Full of Faith is about the grand adventure of that move and the example she set of trusting in the face of great challenges.
Her writing is frank, provocative and full of insight. The one thread woven throughout all the anecdotes is her absolute faith that somehow the universe will take care of her and her family. She held onto that faith even on their flight to the United States — when their airplane filled with smoke due to a fire, and the pilot advised the passengers that an emergency landing may be necessary. In the end, the plane was able to land in Boston while they looked out at a runway filled with fire engines, ambulances and police cars.”
This week I am joined by author Martin “Mark” Tomback. His book, Spiriting Around: A Modern Guide to Finding Yourself, offers a practical approach to life’s challenges.
Mark has over 35 years experiences in spiritual studies. From an early inclination as a youngster he’s explored a variety of spiritual paths always looking for the common thread tying them together. His conclusion: Spirit is our birthright no matter how we interpret God. And every spiritual path has at its center a desire to know more about ourselves and our responsibilities to life. Mark currently lives in South Florida with his family.
Spiriting Around, isn’t another sea-foam-on-the-beach type book. It is about real life from a spiritual standpoint. That when you get that working for your, everything else gets easier. And there’s nothing you need that you don’t already have. You just have to learn how to work with what you’ve got.
