~ The Secret of Wellington’s Map by Mollie Kehl Penrod
I thought that this was a fascinating show about my favorite topics imagination and creativity. Not only did Mollie and I talk about the different ways to encourage imagination and creativity in our kids, but Mollie also shared some great information on the writing process for aspiring writers of all ages.
- Find an idea. Use “What if” and “Let’s Pretend” statements to get you started.
- Capture your ideas, use an idea book for story or book ideas that you get. Even if you don’t do anything with them right away at least you will still have them.
- Outline your story or book, develop character, and identify the conflict and resolution. You have to set up rules for the world that you create.
- Write your book or story filling in your outline.
- Finish book, edit, re-edit and publish.
I want to thank Mollie for making time for Journey to Self today. It was a great show with lots of information and stories about keeping imagination and creativity alive in our lives.
A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Passion Coach Katherine Reschke winner of an autographed copy of Mollie’s book!!
